Hi, I am new to this site, truly addicted to machine embroidery designs, and love to quilt. I also make animal snuggles (blankets) and toys for a couple of no-kill shelters. I am disabled so I too use recycled materials plus any fabrics given to me by friends, etc. that just isn't right for a regular quilt goes into my animal snuggles. I am also a "double-whammy" grammy this summer with Brayden Forrest born on June 28 and Liliana Grayce (I live with her and her mommy) born on Aug 4. No one told me being a grandma was so much fun!
I too like to make friends online but don't always get to the computer every day depends on my pain levels as I suffer from fibromyalgia and related problems. Looking forward to finding my way around this site and getting to know you! Darla

Hi my name is sewldy1 I love to quilt.. I have been using "worn out clothing "
I've been quilting for 5 yrs.. and love it my supplies are limited but i do the best I can. I am a iittle shy about asking for help.. Ive been out of work for almost a year .. I have a 20 yr old son who is disabled.. (that makes it kinda hard to go to work ... I am 44 yrs old and live with my mother.. (who is a little negitive about things) but we get by.. I would love to join your group I dont have many friends I want to have my own quilt shop I call them "memory Quilts" I want to make them for people who have either lost a loved one or want an easier way to preserve baby clothes or any type of clothing that is special to them... I want to also want to add that I live in Indiana and I dont have many Friends
I hope you will include me in your group
thanks

Elanor you are a busy one. I have not made that many quilts.
My very first quilt was full size and i have it in my sewing room on the day bed (which is invisible at the moment).

From there i started on crib quilts for all the grandkids. that makes 7. Now I am progressing to twin size for each family. This quilt is for the family to watch movies and eat popcorn with. They like the idea and its not so big.

Started making quilts about 9 years ago for my (then) 4 grandchildren. Had no idea how to begin so started collecting books on the subject. Since the family continued to grow, the initial number of quilts grew to 15. Took 5 years to complete all but that Christmas my own children, husband, mother-in-law and 8 grandchildren all received large bed sized quilts. Have 2 more to complete for youngest 2 grandchildren (tops are finished) and will be starting on one for great grandson.
Have also completed over 500 lap sized quilts which I've donated to Project Linus. Hope to complete many more for this worthwhile cause in the years to come.
Am looking forward to any and all help this group can give me to improve my quilting.

I haven't actually started a quilt yet in this fashion, but I do have the instructions to create some blocks this way. So please count me in :-)
